Restaurant Review of I Cugini in Santa Monica, CA

Alia Jae
Well, I Cugini in Santa Monica is such a treat to eat at! If you have never experienced eating a meal with an ocean view right in front of your face then I would have to say that you are missing out on something really good in life!

The next time that you have a free Sunday you should come here for the jazz brunch from 10am to 3pm. This amazing jazz brunch is hosted by 94.7 the wave. They have been hosting this brunch for years! In fact, growing up I always heard the advertisements for it on the radio. What can be better than listening to jazz, eating a seafood brunch and staring at the ocean? I guess if you go with that special someone it makes the whole experience that much better!

Their menu is incredible because it changes on a daily basis. So, everyday there is something new for their guests to try. To me that is so very impressive. I guess the only downside to that is if you develop a favorite dish or dessert you never know when they are going to serve it again. Perhaps they will make it for you if you ask; I don't think they would turn a customer down with that kind of request.

One thing I forgot to mention in regards to the jazz brunch you must have reservations. I think there are tickets that you have to purchase. I don't know maybe all you need to do now is just make reservations otherwise you will not be able to participate in the brunch. Overall this is the kind of restaurant that you want to make reservations for, but this is a must for the brunch.

If the weather permits and you would like to heighten you romantic experience when eating here I would say to sit out on the patio. Then not only will you have the view of the ocean, you will also get to experience its calming breeze. This is nice too because you get to be away from all the hustle of the cooks and guests.

The thing that is so great about I Cugini is that they are great with large groups. Especially if you have reservations beforehand they do an amazing job handling all the demands and different situations that a large group can bring. The funny thing is that you will find they don't know how to pronounce what is on the menu very well. That kind of takes away from the fact that this is supposed to be a very authentic atmosphere! It is really not a big deal and definitely not a deal breaker!

This is also an environment that you are able to bring children too. There is not a whole for them to do or things that cater to them, but this is a kid friendly environment. You can ask your waiter or waitress what are the best food options for the kids.
