While most pizza stores look almost identical, Dee's pizza combines an old fashioned look of little Italy with a 60s look that you cant find anywhere else. The big old brick oven takes up a large part of the store, which allows customers to smell the fresh pizza coming right out of the oven. In fact as you walk past the store you can smell the thick aroma of the fresh pizza coming out of the oven.
Dee's pizza is a little on the small size which means you might have to wait for a table longer than normal. This also has to do with the fact that Dee's pizza is one of the only few brick oven pizza stores left in the entire New York state. Brick oven pizza stores have mostly transferred over to more modern stoves that can heat up faster and for higher temperature degrees. Brick oven pizza makers also tend to break down more than a modern day oven. Still, if you ask any pizza maker which type of oven he would prefer, the answer is usually a brick oven.
Dee's pizza is also slightly more than your normal slice of pizza but it is still a lot cheaper than what you would have to pay for a slice of pizza in Manhattan in New York city where a slice of pizza can cost you more than $3.
The people who work at Dee's are very nice people who greet you with a smile and make you feel welcome. Dee's pizza is the type of store in which the employees know their customers on a first name basis and it contributes to the town and community development. Dee's pizza has sponsored various community sports organizations in the past as well. The next time you are in Queens, NY and want to have a good old-fashioned slice of pizza and be reminded of the old days, then stop into Dee's pizza, you wont be disappointed.
