Restaurant Review: Europan Cafe in Manhattan, NY

The Europan Café in Manhattan, NY is one of the most popular little restaurants that its loyal customers have ever seen. The Europan Café (no, that's not a typo; that's how it's spelled) is supposed to be like a European Café but the truth is that it is nothing like a European Café at all and is simply put, a great tasting American desert bakery. The Europan Café can be located on Eighth Avenue, between 42nd and 43rd Street.

The Europan Café has two very different display sections that customers see when they walk into the store. The first display case has all different types of deli sandwiches and the second has all different types of delicious cakes, cookies, pasties and deserts that will have your mouth salivating.

Europan Café is located in the heart of Times Square so there is never a shortage of customers. In fact thanks to the restaurant's success, several other Europan Cafés have opened up in New York City.

The bakery store is known very well by customers for its great tasting deserts. There is a huge selection of deserts to choose from and I guarantee you that any customer can find something they like. For health conscious customers, there are fruit selections that are every bit as good as their cake and cookies.

Speaking of cake and cookies, Europan's desert selection includes cheesecake, chocolate cake, moose cake, tiramisu, pecan pie, apple pie and pumpkin pie. They also carry several different types of cheesecake including Boston cream cheesecake, Oreo Cheesecake, Chocolate Cheesecake, Strawberry Cheesecake and Blueberry cheesecake; both of which contain real fruit. As an alternative to cake, Europan's Café also has rice pudding, brownies, pretzels, baklava, flan and assorted cookies. The prices for a slice of cake are about $4 or $5.

The second section of the store contains deli sandwiches like turkey, salami, roast beef, chicken, tuna, veggie, or ham on a wrap, bagel or slice of bread.

Although Europan's restaurant claims to be a Café as indicated by their name, they are much closer to being a bakery store. There are no waiters and waitresses. You pay for your food at the counter which is the same place where you pick up your food. There are a nice amount of tables and chairs in the store so customers can sit down and enjoy their food. However, since Europan's is located in Times Square, there is always something to do and customers don't stay for very long which means that there is usually seating for customers walking into the store. There is also a bathroom which is used frequently by customers. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a bathroom in New York City. Europan's Café is also located right near the world famous comedy club, Laugh Factory which is always packed. Customers from the Laugh Factory usually go to the Europan Café to grab something quick to eat before or after their comedy show.
