Restaurant Review of Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar in El Segundo, Ca

Alia Jae
The décor at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine will just grab your attention. I love that even though this is an upscale restaurant it has a contemporary clubby feel to it. Their specialty here is prime rib that has been aged for up to four weeks. Just imagine how awesome that would taste in your mouth! Then they drizzle the prime rib with some béarnaise sauce and it is just to die for. They have other amazing choices like crab legs, lobster tails, Alaskan salmon and amazing sides like chipotle mac and cheese.

If my description has wet your appetite enough to make you want to hit Fleming's up then let me give you some insider tips that will help you to get the most out of your time there.

They have a by the glass wine list of 100 different choices. What is so good about them is that they will allow you to try three different kinds in little two ounce glasses so that you are able to make a better decision on what it is that you really like. Then there is a totally different list of 80 wines that you can buy by the bottle.

There is something that you just must try when you are here, but you have to come with six or more people! This wonderful promotion is called the Discovery Dinner. This is a custom made dinner for those of you who are just crazy about your wine and must have it with dinner. This allows you to have a three four course menu option that will cost $75, $100 or $150 and the wine pairing has been approved by the Chef. You must have reservations for this promotion.

As you can see from the prices listed above this is the kind of restaurant that will bust your budget. It is quite easy to spend $65 per person here. The side dishes are rather expensive. Each side dish usually runs for $9 and so do the desserts. You might be wondering why the side dishes have to be bought separately, that is because they serve their meat al la carte. That is a little sneaky if you ask me as if the meat is not expensive enough! If money is an issue I would highly recommend sharing dishes and you can even have your waitress have the chef split the meal for you.

This does make for a great romantic environment if you go at the right time. If you go on the weekend's chances are you will not be able to experience a nice romantic environment. The best time to go is during the week in the evening when people are not there in great measure. Otherwise, when you go on the weekends it is just going to be too busy and loud for you!

You will be treated with the utmost respect and care from the staff here. They are so good about things being perfect. They will re-make your food if something did not turn out right or you are not pleased with the dish on any level they are right there to make it right!
