Restaurant Review: Granny's Kitchen in Woodville, Ohio

Bubba
It had been a long day. The trip to the prothetist office was fulfillin' but tirin'. We came down Route Twenty towards home and realized we were hungry. On the West side of Woodville, Ohio is a little place called Granny's Kitchen. Their Motto is "Just good homecookin'". We had eaten breakfast here before but never seemed to be here at supper time. Today this will change.

Located at 1105 West Main St the homey buildin' always seems to have cars in the parkin' lot. They are open Monday through Friday 6am till 8pm. Saturday 7am till 8pm and Sunday 7am till 3pm. Give 'em a call at 419-849-2203 if y'all have questions. Breakfast is available all day, the sandwiches are generous and full of flavor. They do offer senior portions to all the dinner entrees.

Granny's Kitchen is one of those friendly local restaurants that makes ya wanna take your shoes off, loosen your belt, and rest yourself. The friendly banter between the servers and the regular customers is upliftin' to say the least. To the left as you walk into the first room is a Victorian decorated room. It's Bonnie's favorite decor so that's where we chose to sit. Bonnie is now talkin' about wallpaperin' our entire house just because of this delightful experience.

As I said we were weary and hungry so it was let's order now ! My Queen Goddess saw that Roast Beef, mashed potatoes, vegetable was on special this night. She added a tossed salad and of course some great hot coffee. The beef was so tender you didn't need a knife. The robust flavor was beyond her expectations. I spied on the special board my favorite meal. Meatloaf, baked potato, vegetable. I did enhance this feast with a bowl of chicken rice soup, a side of cole slaw and some of that delightful coffee. The meatloaf was of excellent quality and the portion was perfect. The soup was thick with meat and rice, mmmm good. Hold your fork the best is yet to come...

There is a menu board in the front room listin' at least twenty different pie choices. I asked if they were homemade. Our server told us no they were Amish made pies. Bonnie chose the chocolate peanut butter and I couldn't pass up a real rhubarb pie. We both decided to splurge and have it ala mode and warm mine please. The crust on my pie was so light that the fruit was the only thing keepin' it from floatin' in the air. Bonnie wouldn't tell me about her pie but the twinkle in her eye made me believe it was decadent.

We did it again folks. All this wonderful food includin' sales tax and a generous gratuity was under $30. If you're out in the Woodville area and even the least bit hungry this would be a great place to stop. Perhaps we'll see ya there if not just tell 'em Bubba & Bonnie sent ya... Mizpah ;-}}>
