Restaurant Review of the Great Burrito in New York City

If you are wondering where to get some great Mexican food while you are roaming around New York City and shopping till you drop then let me just recommend the Great Burrito. The Great Burrito is an authentic spot and the decorations really make you feel like you are in Mexico and not right in the middle of New York City.

When you are seated they will bring you fresh tortillas chips and salsa. They will give you a choice of having mild, medium or hot salsa. The salsa is delicious and fresh. This salsa is not the typical store bought stuff. This salsa is the real deal!

The thing that you want to know about this place is that it is kind of small. So, I would not recommend going in large groups. It is pest to go in a party of 2-4. Any more than that and it makes it hard for the workers to seat you in a timely manner. There really isn't that much seating there in the first place.

The burritos and enchiladas come in very hefty portions! You might even want to have someone share the meal with you because they are portions are so monstrous. I think that the Great Burrito makes their portions so big because it's kind of like a family style eating.

If you are looking for a lot of variety here, you will not find it. There menu is really mostly about burritos and enchiladas. There are different kinds of burritos and enchilada to choose from. I really don't see this as a con it's just the niche they chose to specialize in!

Everything you can order here is very reasonably priced and I guarantee you even if you share food with someone you will be able to take some food with you for later.

Right across the street for the Great Burrito there is the American Museum of Natural History. This will be good for you to go and walk some of this food off!

Another thing you may or may not care about is that they don't serve any kind of liquor. There are Mexican drink choices and regular sodas, but no liquor. I think they do this to keep the restaurant a more family friendly place.

If you are looking for a charming yet convenient place to get some good Mexican food you should try the Great Burrito! Remember though to not come in large groups.
