You don't have to travel to all the way to Louisiana to enjoy authentic cajun style cuisine! Gumbo's Louisiana Style Cafe in Denver offers a variety of southern soul foods that will satisfy any creole craving! The restaurant is housed in an old building with brick walls that are accented with rich dark woods and mood setting lighting! The atmosphere is both relaxing and very comfortable. This very popular cajun restaurant has walls adorned with portraits of jazz musicians which adds to the southern charm. The staff is very hospitable, friendly and knowledgeable. And, for an added personal touch the owner is often found visiting tables and talking with patrons!

Gumbo's is a perfect after work destination for locals and a must visit restaurant for visitors and tourists! But, after dark Gumbo's comes alive with an active bar scene and a diverse crowd.

Both the drinks and food at Gumbo's are high end quality at reasonable prices! The house specialty is of course Gumbo, with a variety of four different gumbos to choose from you'll want to try them all!

The lunch menu at Gumbo's Louisiana Style Cafe includes delicious entrees such as Catfish Jambalaya, Blackened Catfish Gumbo, Beef Tenderloins, fish of the day and chicken and shrimp pastas.

For dinner you can choose from such mouth watering entrees as Blackened Shrimp, Shrimp Creole and fish of the day. If you're not in the mood for seafood, there are tenderloins prepared in a variety of ways with red wine and tarragon sauces.

Aside from gumbo, this cajun restaurants specialties include Salmon in pastry, Sweet Potato Catfish, Chicken Dixie and peppercorn crusted pork tenderloin!

Lunch menu entrees vary from $11 up to $28 and dinner ranges between $17 and $30 for the main entree. Their cajun salads are priced around $12 and feature blackened catfish, chicken or shrimp and they also offer vegetable salads for slightly less.

Happy hour is between 2 and 6 pm weekdays with $2.50 glasses of wine, half priced beer and $4 martinis! When drinking in the bar area a free bowl of gumbo is served with every purchase of a cocktail!

Gumbo's is open from 11am - 2pm and then 5pm - 10pm Monday's through Thursday's. Friday's lunch time is the same, but they're open until 11pm for late night crowds. The restaurant is open from 5pm until 11pm on Saturday's and closed on Sunday's.

Reservations aren't a requirement, but they are highly recommended to make sure that you get a table. They can be made online or you can call the restaurant to reserve a table.

This cajun restaurant is very kid friendly, so it's a great choice for family dining! There are plenty of parking spots available on the street and a parking garage at 16th and Wazee for added convenience!
