Restaurant Review: Heartland Brewery in New York City

Are you looking for a great place to grab a beer? Are you looking for a great place to sit down and have a great meal while drinking from a great selection of beers? Well then you're in luck. One of the best restaurants in New York City is called Heartland Brewery, located on 34th Street and 5th Avenue. The restaurant is located very close to the Empire State building in Manhattan.

Heartland Brewery has several restaurant locations throughout New York City because it has become so popular. The ambiance is absolutely terrific and there are two full bars for customers and two floors full of tables for customers. Like the restaurant's name suggest, Heartland Brewery is known for their beer. Their classic beer order is for a six course beer platter which features six different beers served to you upon order with each beer served in a glass that is slightly bigger than a double shot glass. The beers served in this six beer glass platter has its own distinct names are not your ordinary beers you would get at a bar like Budweiser or Miller. At another Heartland Brewery restaurant location in Manhattan, there are beer tubes with beer in them on the walls around you that customers get to see as the beer is poured at the bar from the beer taps.

As far as the service goes, it is fantastic. You can place a reservation ahead of time with the restaurant and even on the busiest of nights you can get a table. I made a reservation on a Friday night there and there was no waiting time at all. Their reservation policy is that you cannot be seated at the restaurant until all the members of your group are accounted for and present at the restaurant.

The food is very good at Heartland Brewery. The menu is a single two sided sheet. The front side contains a huge beer selection and the back side contains the main course meals and appetizers. I ordered salmon the last time I was there and it was delicious as it came in a glazed sauce with white rice and steamed vegetables. My only complaint is that the food portions are a little small for my liking but then again, I have seen some restaurants give much smaller portions for much more charged in price. Speaking of price, I thought the prices for the food was very reasonable. The Salmon was $17.50 and other food dishes like burgers or fish and chips were around $12 or $15. Sodas are $3 but they do give refills which make it worthwhile.

Parking is difficult and I recommend taking public transportation. The Long Island railroad coming out of Penn Station and Grand Station is located very close to Heartland Brewery and there are a few subway stations near the restaurant as well.
