In-Joy is a nice little pastry shop hidden in a hard-to-spot location in the Civic Center / Tenderloin area of downtown San Francisco. You know the Carl's Jr. next to the U.N. Plaza, on the corner of Seventh and Market? The one that used to be the Thieves Market where all the sketchy characters hung out selling shoplifted groceries and other bizarre random goods? It's behind that, on the other side of the block.
The pastries are made on-site. On the menu are danishes, cookies, cakes, eclairs, cream puffs and napoleons amongst a bunch of other pastries I can't even identify. I haven't tried all of them yet, but I've yet to be disappointed by anything I have tried.
They also have coffee and sandwiches. Haven't tried either of those here yet, but they appear to be inexpensive.
