Restaurant Review: Jolly Fisherman in Roselyn, NY

Hard Worker
The Jolly Fisherman restaurant is a great place for the entire family to enjoy which is known for their delicious and fresh seafood and large steak platters. The Jolly Fisherman is located on Main Street in Roselyn, Long Island that is located in the state of New York. The Jolly Fisherman has been around for 49 years since 1957 and townspeople in the Long Island area consider the Jolly Fisherman to be among the best seafood in the state. The Jolly Fisherman is open from noon until 9:30 or 10:30 on most nights. The Jolly Fisherman is very similar to the Riverbay restaurant, which is also located in Long Island. The waiters and waitresses wear black tuxedos with bow ties and paintings of ships and of the sea are hung on the wall.

The Jolly Fisherman has a vast menu with almost every type of imaginable fish that exists off the New York seacoast. Items on the menu include shrimp, lobster, oyster, red snapper, salmon, scrod, lemon sole, flounder, tuna, halibut, crab, scallops and oysters. For meat lovers, The Jolly Fisherman also offers several different steak options including sirloin steak, prime cut rib steak among others. There are also chicken, lamb and duck entrées as well.

The pricing for Jolly Fisherman is a little expensive but it is still affordable for a middle class family. Fish prices range from $20 to $28. Every meal comes with home made bread and appetizers to choose from include their famous clam chowder soup and various types of salads.

The ambiance at Jolly Fisherman is lovely and very down to earth. Chandeliers are scattered throughout the room and most seating areas have tables and chairs instead of booths. While you eat, customers have a great view of the lake during the day.

The deserts are also very good and are reasonably priced for an elegant seafood restaurant. Desert prices range from $6 to $8 and include your choice of banana cream pie, chocolate moose cake, rice pudding, cheesecake or fresh fruit. For desert drinks, The Jolly Fisherman's menu includes an espresso, cappuccino, Irish, Mexican or Dutch coffee and cocktail drinks.

The Jolly Fisherman also has valet parking so that you don't have the hassle of finding a parking space. The Jolly Fisherman does have their own parking lot so your car will usually be found next to the restaurant.

I highly recommend eating at Jolly Fisherman. The Prices might be a little more expensive than you would normally pay, but if you want unique seafood and a great night out for dinner, then Jolly Fisherman is the place for you.

The Jolly fisherman's food migth be OK, but the service is questionable. I never experienced bevor a manager of a restaurant complaining about the level of the tip (by the way it was regular) in such an insulting style. I will definetly not visit this place again.
