Restaurant Review: Kosher Delight in the Heart of New York City

Hard Worker
New York City is the home to so many different ethnic, racial and cultural groups that you can find just about any type of food there. If you are Muslim or Jewish, there are a multitude of restaurants that can meet your dietary needs. One of the best examples is Kosher Delight, located near Times Square in New York City.

Despite its name, Kosher Delight is not only for Jewish people, although you will see a good amount of religious Jews in the restaurant. People of all different cultures and denominations eat at the restaurant because the food is so good. Kosher Delight is located right across the street from Mr. Broadway which is a very similar restaurant although the two eateries have very unique styles and set up for customers.

Kosher Delight is a place where customers can sit down after quickly ordering their food and talk with friends. When you enter the restaurant, you go up to the counter to order your food and you pay right away. There are no waiters or waitresses. The menu is located on the wall above the cash registers.

The food is very good at Kosher Delight. It is also very expensive because the food is kosher which means it has to go through more eating procedures than a normal piece of meat. The portions of food are also small comparatively to Mr. Broadway. Of the two restaurants, I would definitely favor Mr. Broadway. For more information on that restaurant, you can look at my restaurant review for it. At Kosher Delight, I had ordered a chicken cutlet which I found to be small for the $9 that I ended up paying for it. The meat selection is pretty big and you can order chicken, burger, hot dogs, lamb or steak.

For seating there are booths located on the isles and there are also tables located at the center of the room. The restaurant is divided into two sections: The first section is where you walk in and get on a line to order and wait for your food. The second section has all of the seating tables and booths. In both sections, there are televisions hung up on the wall for customers to watch. The lines for food are usually long, especially during dinner hours. However, the food comes out very quickly and is served freshly made.

For anyone who has never been to Times Square in Manhattan, you can forget about parking. You should either walk to Kosher Delight or take public transportation. If you have to drive to the restaurant, you can attempt to find parking on the street but good luck with that. You will probably need to find a parking garage near the restaurant which will charge you anywhere from $20 to $30 for parking for the night.

If you like kosher meat and great food, I highly recommend this restaurant.
