La Fiesta Taqueria has mastered the formula for bringing in patrons in a weak economy: serve good food at good prices, quickly and with a smile. For less than $20, a couple can have more food than they can comfortably eat-in fact, some dishes could be shared and both parties would still have plenty to eat, especially with the addition of some of the endless, free chips and salsa.
Speaking of the chips and salsa, one could almost make a meal out of the salsa bar alone. Several freshly made salsas are available at any given time, including pico de gallo, avocado salsa, mild, medium and hot. There are also a number of other garnishes.
The atmosphere at La Fiesta is fun and casual. You place your order and pay at the cash register, take your Styrofoam cup to the drink machine and fill it yourself, then find a table and wait for someone to bring you your meal. It is generally on the noisy side because there are always people in there and Mexican soccer games playing on the overhead televisions. There are several La Fiesta Taqueria locations in the Sacramento area.
The Menu at La Fiesta Taqueria in Folsom, California
The menu includes a la cart items like tacos, burritos and quesadillas with all the traditional toppings. Most come with your choice from a long list of meats that include asada, chili verde, chicken, and even lengua. The meats are deliciously seasoned, and it can be hard to choose one. Luckily, the prices are good enough that you can order two or three tacos with different meats for a decent price.
There are also Platillos, full meals that include rice and beans. The other night, I tried a chimichanga with asada, a new item on the menu. Chimichangas are one of my favorite "Mexican" items, so I have had a lot of them. This one was fantastic, absolutely stuffed with meat, delightfully crispy and topped with sour cream and guacamole. I could not finish the whole thing.
La Fiesta Taqueria Staff
The staff at La Fiesta are better than rival the staff at any high-priced restaurant. They get your order right every time, they get it to you quickly and always with a smile. They even check on you during your meal to see if everything is OK. One night, one of them came out and sang to a customer with the most beautiful voice.
For cheap, delicious and authentic Mexican food in Folsom, California, you cannot go wrong with La Fiesta Taqueria!
