Restaurant Review of Lombardi's Pizzeria in New York City

Alia Jae
Lomdardis Pizzeria is located in New York City and opened way back in the day! It was established in 1905 and is said to be America's very first pizzeria. It has a vintage Italian fill with black and white pictures all around and checkered table cloths their pizza's entire are made in an old school coal oven and supposedly this is what makes their pizza the best pizza in all of New York! There are usually really long lines to get to a table; in fact your wait is most often at least an hour. However, if you go during the mid afternoon hour or on the weekends the wait is considerably less.

Everything you order is fresh and made on the spot. What I like is that they don't leave food sitting under a lamp for who knows how long and then serve it up to you like it's been freshly made. The prices are pretty comparable to other pizzerias that are not even authentic to begin with. For a 6 piece small you will only pay $10.50. For a large that comes with 8 slices that will cost you $12.50. The pizza comes with fresh mozzarella, San Marzano fresh tomato sauce that is topped off with some amazing fresh basil and Romano. Now I have a really big craving for pizza. The crust is very moist and thin, it has a perfectly blackened bottom that has jut the right amount of crispiness.

There many toppings to choose from and you can customize your pizza however you desire! This is where the cost of your pizza can go up if you choose to customize your pizza. It costs $3 for 1 topping, $5 for two toppings and then $1 for any additional toppings. So, as you can see your pizza can cost you a bit more if you decide to make it a little accustomed to your likings.

Some of the extra little toppings you can get are sweet Italian sausage, homemade meatballs, ricotta impastata, roasted peppers, red onion and fresh mushroom. There are many more options, but this just gives you a basic idea of the different choices you have.

A shared pizza will cost you between $20-$30 and the beverage pitcher will serve three to four people. They only accept cash or check and there are no reservations accepted. Enjoy your experience here you will love it and want to come back next time you are in New York.
