I was invited to a lunch recently in Duluth, Georgia. The restaurant is called Mini Hot Pot. I didn't know what to think of from the name, so I thought I'd just go with the flow and keep and open mind.

When you walk up to the building the name is printed in bright red letters and there is glass that surrounds the building so you can get a little peek inside. Once you enter Mini Hot Pot, a beautiful blue mosaic at the entrance greets you along with what appears to be beautifully carved elongated pumpkin that simply says welcome.

As you look towards the ceiling there are elegant pendant lighting that has hues of amber and yellow butterflies that seem to be suspended in mid air. The other lighting includes what appears to be a beautiful ball that looks like a giant snowflake. It too is suspended from the ceiling and is somewhat of a conversation piece.

Once you are done admiring the beautiful atmosphere, it's time to sit down and enjoy the main event. Yes, you guessed it. The Mini Hot Pot adventure begins! The tables have built-in pots with boiling water. It kind of works along the lines of fondue. The staff brings you raw veggies; meat and other protein to the table and you cook it yourself.

I haven't been to a fondue place in a long time, so it took me a minute to adjust. Mini Hot Pot offers various meats that include, chicken, beef and a variety of veggie broths. So, just let the staff know what your taste preference is and they will accommodate you.

Once you've selected your main dish the next task is to find out what kind of sauce you'd like to have with your sweet potato noodle, cabbage, watercress, fresh corn, taro root and tofu just to name a few. Once again, the staff will ask you what kind of seasoning you prefer and find a perfect selection for you. I opted for the spicy herb with a touch of peanut sauce and it was absolutely wonderful! The blend of the two made music in my mouth.

This was a great way to have a healthy meal without having to give up the flavor. I believe we spent around $8.00 for lunch. You can choose a lunch or dinner dish between $6.00 and $12.00 also, if you'd like extra noodles it will only cost you an additional $2.00.

Mini Hot Pot is located at 2174 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth, GA 30096-4606. This is a great place for a casual date or special occasion such as a wedding rehearsal or girl's night out. Give them a call today and book your reservation at 678-417-8888. Mini Hot Pot is truly the NEW HOT place to be in Duluth, Georgia
