Restaurant Review - North Las Vegas Blueberry Hill

an Amazing Experience

SL
I recently stayed in the North Las Vegas area at a Super 8 Motel.

I was famished at checkout time, so my friend and I headed to the attached family owned Blueberry Hill restaurant. I am elated that I did.

My only memory of eating in Las Vegas was at Coco's and I was not impressed.

Blueberry Hill's interior is nostalgic. Not in a cheesy, newly renovated modern way. The inside looks like a real diner style, complete with leather booths, shiny walls, great classic music.

We were promptly seated. I could tell everyone in Blueberry Hill is about customer service. Our waitress had on a cute pink apron, and was super polite getting our drinks.

Taking a look at the menu, I was highly impressed that they were boastful about preparing food to order, or that they made it from "scratch". Examples being mashed potatoes, real beef, real eggs, muffins etc. I felt confident that any food I got was going to be fresh and made shortly after I ordered it.

I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon and fries. Yes, that sounds odd, but I have been to several restaurants that serve grilled cheese and oddly, none of them can make them taste like a real sandwich. Sadly, not many places can take toasted bread and cheese and make it taste good. I wanted to see if Blueberry Hill could perfect the simple, homemade sandwich.

My friend ordered a waffle breakfast. His coffee cup was kept full, and my ice tea was never lacking. Our server even gave me a new lemon upon every refill.
Our food was ready at record speed. My friend's waffle was immaculate (I snuck a bite) and his eggs and bacon tasted real and good. Also, the server brought him an extra syrup when she brought the food. My friend always has to track down a staff member to get enough syrup. It was like this lady was reading our minds!

My grilled cheese sandwich was superb! The cheese was not sickeningly hardened, nor burnt, nor not cooked enough. The bread was deliciously toasted to perfection. The bacon was crisp and added a great touch to this classic meal. My fries were excellent. My server got brownie points for not giving me a strange look when I asked for ranch.

I felt like moving to Las Vegas just so I could eat breakfast there everyday.

We devoured our food and felt like we were in a commercial because we kept commenting on everything.

We didn't have to wait forever to get our check like at some places. The price was excellent, especially for the whole experience. We tipped generously.
Blueberry Hill is a great restaurant. I suggest checking it out for the great service, great food, and great atmosphere.
