The menu at Oddfellows Rest is unique, and just about every selection is outstanding. If you like spicy, Oddfellows is sure to please. I highly recommend the Grilled Chicken Po' Boy. Add some tobasco sauce, Oddfellows' favorite condiment. The sandwich is delicious, and it is served with some magnificent criss-cut jazz fries.
To drink, you have to have one (or three) of Oddfellows' famous Hurricanes. This Louisiana-style cocktail is so strong, they limit you to three. But don't worry, no one is really counting.
When the weather is fair, you can dine outdoors, either right on River Street, where you can watch the PATH station foot traffic, or in the back on a nice, cozy patio.
The service is always outstanding at Oddfellows, even when the restaurant is busy. And the bar is often one of the best in Hoboken. Be sure to check it out during Mardi Gras, especially on Fat Tuesday, when the place really rocks.
The prices at Oddfellows Rest are very reasonable. Most dishes are under ten bucks. And their daily specials are usually delicious.
My friend John, a resident of Long Becah, New York, says of Oddfellows: "This place is great. There's nothing like sitting outside, drinking a few Hurricanes, and watching the people go by, on a lazy Wednesday afternoon."
My friend Brent says of Oddfellows: "Their food is some of the best in Hoboken. I love their crawfish when it's in-season. It's spectacular. Oh yeah, and the Hurricanes aren't bad either."
My friend Jill says of Oddfellows: "Oddfellows has excellent food. Their menu has plenty to offer. Not many restaurants in Hoboken offer a selection like that. They have great waffle fries. It's a fun place to spend ladies' night, and not a bad place for a first date. The bar scene is fun. And if you lift up your shirt you'll get free beads."
My friend Vin says of Oddfellows: "It's a great place to lunch. If you work in Hoboken, it's a terrific break from the day. When you get back to the office you feel energized. Especially if you downed two or three of those wild Hurricanes."
