If you're in the mood for family food and fun at an affordable price, Papa's Pizza To-Go in Blue Ridge, Georgia is the place to take the family. This pizza joint offers enough food choices to please even the picky eaters in your family and a game room, all housed in a clean, well lit family environment.
Pizza and More
Papa's Pizza To-Go lives up to it's name - call in your order from their extensive menu, then enter through the separate 'take-out' entrance and be on your way with hot, made-to-order food in a flash. If dine-in is what you want, head through the line and order the affordable pizza buffet and a beverage for less than $8 per person or order something off the menu and dine in.
The menu is extensive, with offerings such as sub sandwiches, salads, lasagna, spaghetti, quesadillas, chicken wraps, wings, health-friendly foods, 'kidtastic corner' and of course, pizza. You may want to give Papa's Hundred Pounder pizza a try, it's their largest pizza and comes with your choice of toppings. A wide variety of 'breadstix', including Papa's Piggystix (cheese and bacon covered breadstix with dipping sauce) grace the menu.
The pizza buffet is contains all the usual suspects and a few surprises. Cheese, pepperoni, sausage and veggie pizzas are neatly arrayed and continuously paraded out to the buffet so customers can help themselves. Sliced calzones, cheese potatoes and cheese bread are some of the surprises you'll find tucked in among the pizzas. The hot pasta bar boasts three kinds of pasta and sauce and shares it's space with the cold salad bar, which has the fresh fixings for a healthy green salad.
Let Them Have Their Cake.....
I'll take the dessert pizza from Papa's Pizza To-Go over cake any day. The warm, gooey chocolate peanut butter pizza evokes the warm fuzzy feelings that songs are written about. Fruit topped dessert pizzas like strawberry, apple and blueberry also await on the dessert bar along with cinnamon sticks to enjoy after your meal.
Restaurant Decor and Game Room
Papa's Pizza To-Go is a clean, family atmosphere restaurant. The restaurant is well lit and is tastefully decorated in muted earth tone colors with large picture murals decorating the walls. The murals depict both the old and new aspects town of Blue Ridge, reminding customers of yesteryear in the mountain area with an eye towards the modern.
The game room is small, but clean and sufficient for kids to enjoy a little playtime, win some tokens then redeem those tokens for prizes. A few tables are located in the game room so adults can eat while kids play.
Papa's Pizza To-Go is a family-friendly place that lends itself well to hosting children's birthday parties, of which I witnessed while visiting. All areas of the restaurant were kept well cleaned during my visit (including the restroom) by the friendly staff.
