Restaurant Review: Pinocchio Village Haus in Disney World

Pinocchio Village Haus is located in Fantasyland near the It's a Small World attraction. The restaurant is set up to look like the buildings in the move Pinocchio and the artwork inside features some of the characters from the movie. There are several dining areas including some tables that allow you to get a view of the It's a Small World attraction. The restaurant is on of the counter service ones with you getting your food and finding your own table

This place can get quite busy during lunch and dinner times, so you may want to plan around the typical times by having a early lunch around 11am or a late lunch/early dinner around 3pm or a late dinner around 8pm. During the real busy seasons of the park it can be quite hard to find much of a slow time at this place. Thus it is good to head here before you are starving, so that the wait in line is not seem painfully long because your stomach is rumbling.

Service is minimal due to the nature of the restaurant, but we found the cast members taking orders very helpful on answering questions about the menu. Also, like other hot spots for lunch and dinner the table bussing crew does a good job of cleaning the tables and making them available for the next group needing a table. Thus even when it is busy it often does not take too long to find a clean open table. Actually, it will probably take longer to get through the line during the peak times around lunch and dinner.

The food available here includes pizza, Italian sandwiches, soups, and salads. The best dish here, at least in my opinion, is the Strombolli's Chicken Garden Salad. As a vegetarian, I had the salad without the chicken, which was easily requested and done. The salad has peaches, walnuts, and blue cheese in addition to the normal greens. It is also topped with a vinaigrette. It is by far one of the best salad's I have ever had, especially considering this is a fast food place inside a theme park.

Price wise this place is affordable, as far as being a theme park restaurant goes. You can easily get a entrée and drink for $10 or less. For example, a pizza combo with a side salad and a drink comes to about $10. The salad entrees run a little cheaper by a dollar or two.

Yeah, the restaurant is kind of hidden, but it sure can still get busy. I do not even want to know how busy it would end up if it was more obvious in location.

We'll have to check this one out when we go to Disney. I always forget that it's over there.
