We wandered into the dinning area and observed many of the huge wood pulleys that once carried the power from the water wheel to the mill have been converted to unique chandeliers. The tables were covered in white linen enhanced with linen napkins folded to stand at attention awaiting our arrival. The service staff was prompt and young. I found out later they were students from Tiffin University.
Our server Amanda was a sweet young gal that had the personality of an angel and the work ethic of a soaring eagle. Jim ordered the Lake Erie Perch (an Ohio Favorite) lightly breaded and deep fried enhanced with some French Fried Taters and a cup of rich onion soup covered in melted cheese. Elaine ordered from the daily special board. A Tillapia covered with dill, garlic, and butter sauce enhanced with French Fried taters and a Caesar Salad. The Queen Goddess decided on the Fettuccine Alfredo enhance with char broiled chicken and a Caesar Salad. I also chose from the daily special board. Roast Rack of Lamb in a Portabella mushroom gravy enhanced with garlic mashed red skin taters and a cup of bean soup. (Y'all know there is a gas shortage at our house)... Hold your fork the best is yet to come...
Amanda came to the table carrying a huge tray of sweet endings. Amanda tempted us with sight and verbal drooling description of each item. Jim chose a huge 3 layer carrot cake with an amazing cream cheese frosting piled high between each layer and on top. Both Elaine and the Queen Goddess chose the New York style Cheese cake. It was huge and too much to even describe. I have attached a picture.
To give you any more details would ruin the experience for you. If you are within 100 miles of Tiffin, Ohio stop in to the Pioneer Mill. The food and service is textbook great. Tell 'em Bubba and Bonnie sent ya... Mizpah ;-}}>
