Recently, my wife and our daughter went out to eat at Redz on a Saturday. When you get to Redz you can't help but notice the building. It is red of course, but it looks like and old barn that belongs out in the country somewhere. It is very unique. Someone made mention that the restaurant has actually been around for nearly 50 years. Once inside we were warmly greeted and shown to our table. All the while you could just smell the aroma of barbeque all around you.
We asked what was the most popular choice was off the menu and were told we had to try the ribs. Well, we decided on what we wanted to order; I had the barbequed beef brisket and my wife had the ribs. All orders include sides of baked beans, rolls, slaw and choice of sauces. Our daughter had a kid's meal.
As we were waiting on our order we took notice of the atmosphere and all of the old time country items on the wall. The restaurant appeared clean and nicely kept. My wife made mention that the bathroom was clean and had plenty of toilet paper. After 15 minutes our order was brought to our table.
I will say one thing about Redz Rib Shack...they do not cheat you on the amount of food they serve up! My wife had a rack of ribs that would hardly fit on the oversized plate. I took one of them off her plate to sample and I must say it was one of the better tasting barbequed ribs I've had. The meat was tender and not to smoky. My brisket was also as tender as anyone could want. The meat was seasoned just right and the barbeque sauce complimented it perfectly.
The service that Redz provides is excellent, or at least it was in our case. The waitress came back several times to refill our drinks and ask if we needed anything else. The only thing we eventually needed was a doggy bag to take home all the leftovers.
Our family definitely enjoyed eating at Redz Rib Shack and plan on returning in the future. With a cozy atmosphere and good service, Redz makes a good choice for anyone wanting good barbeque.
