The Rib room is the Winner of the prestigious Zagat Award. The restaurant serves prime rib, steak, fowl, and seafood. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner in an upscale, refined environment.
We walked to the Rib Room from our Canal street hotel in a matter of minutes, but had trouble finding it. Fortunately we were following a GPS app. When we got to where it was supposed to be, we found ourselves looking at a hotel. The rib room is located in the OMNI hotel at 621 St. Louis Street in the French Quarter. If the thought of eating at a hotel restaurant turns you off, think again. The rib room was fabulous from service, to food, and atmosphere.
We skipped starters having had a late snack at the hotel. Instead we were served warm bread and slabs of fresh butter. Drinks were suggested and poured and were were well attended to without feeling crowded.
The meals were simple, steak and potatoes, and they were delicious. Served along with fresh sour cream and spicy horseradish, the meal was a party in my mouth.
We enjoyed me meal and the casual conversation with our waiter, Miguel who had a long tenure with the restaurant. He even gave us some ideas on where we could go after wards to continue enjoying our evening.
If you find yourself in the French Quarter in New Orleans, looking for a good place to eat, I highly recommend you visit The Rib Room. You can't go wrong, especially if Miguel is your waiter.
