The Rio Grande is locally owned and operated, which makes it an especially fun place to visit. Good food in a good restaurant is even better when you know you're supporting a local business.
This restaurant looks like an average downtown restaurant. Once you get inside, however, it is a vibrant place to be in. The atmosphere is fun and contrasts to the small town feel you can experience elsewhere in Greeley.
Menu choices at The Rio Grande are quite appealing. The food offered ranges from more traditional Mexican dishes to "texmex" dishes. There is, of course, chips and salsa.
The chips and salsa are one of my favorite parts of eating at a Mexican restaurant. At this restaurant the chips and salsa are pretty good so it's sometimes hard to not fill up on them before the meal arrives.
Mexican restaurants and margaritas go hand in hand. The Rio Grande seems to understand this association and takes their margaritas seriously. They are often voted as having the best margaritas in town. Order one and see why.
Pricing at The Rio Grande seems fair. You'll pay more here than if you went for fast food, but the average person could eat here once in a while without going broke. Although the restaurant is located downtown, parking is free.
Patrons at The Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant can expect to receive good service. At times the restaurant can be busy, which is typical of restaurants, but the service stays at a good level regardless of how busy the restaurant may be. Servers are friendly and attentive.
The downtown location of this restaurant is convenient. You can stroll past several shops and boutiques before or after dinner. If shopping isn't your thing there is a large park nearby as well. In the winter months this park is filled with Christmas lights, so strolling through the park can be a really fun way to end the night out.
Overall, eating at The Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant is a good experience. The food is fairly good, the prices reasonable, and the service is usually great as well. The convenient downtown location adds to the appeal. And how can you pass up the opportunity to order what has often been dubbed the best margarita in town?
