Roma's Pizza is now in its 4th generation with the same family that started it all. That tells you something right there. We visited this well known pizza restaurant on a Friday night at around 7:00PM. To say they were busy is an understatement! The restaurant was full and we had to wait for approximately 10 minutes. Lesson 1 is to get to Roma's Pizza early on a Friday or Saturday night. What made matters worse was the fact that we had to smell the delicious aroma of pizza the entire time.
The hostess sat us all down at our table and was quite apologetic for the delay. The menu at Roma's Pizza includes not only pizza, but all sorts of salads, breads and pasta's. We decided on a pizza and I wanted to try their lasagna. While waiting for our order to come out we couldn't help but notice how clean the restaurant was, even for how busy they were on a Friday night. Tables were immediately cleaned after a customer left and everything was well organized. Even the bathrooms were clean.
After 20 minutes our order arrived at our table. The food was so hot it was obvious it just came out of the oven. One of the keys to a good pizza is getting it right from the oven. Our pizza included cheese, hamburger, pepperoni and onion. I could hardly believe how much cheese Roma's Pizza puts on their pizzas. It was so thick and tasted even better!
The plate of lasagna that I ordered was enough for at least two people. For $6.99 you can't find a better deal on lasagna. The lasagna was simply superb. Filled with meat, cheese and sauce, I was very satisfied. I also was only able to eat half of it! We took the rest home with us that night.
When you ask anyone in Bethalto, IL where to go for pizza, Roma's Pizza is their only recommendation. After eating there I can see why they say that. You can't go wrong in eating at Roma's Pizza.
