Restaurant Review: Samurai Sam's Teriyaki Grill in San Diego

Ms. Uknowhoo
I love Asian food, which is why I'm particularly picky when it comes to good Asian fast food or Asian food in general. A few months ago, I came across a place called "Samurai Sam's Teriyaki Grill". Living in San Diego, there are many places to choose a variety of food. ut both on a budget and a hungry stomach, I decided "why not?". And I've been going there ever since!

Okay, so maybe this restaurant is on the fast-food side, but don't run away just yet! You'll be relieved to know that their food is not fried and is actually much healthier than a restaurant burger. Actually, about 48 percent of a Big Mac's calories is fat, while a regular chicken teriyaki bowl only has about 16 percent fat from the calories! The chicken is always grilled, the noodles are not fried, and neither is the rice. (They actually have a dish they call "not so fried rice").

This restaurant also has a unique style of food, combining both oriental and American styles. For example, may I present to you the steak bowl? It's like the regular chicken bowl with your helping of veggies (cabbage, broccoli, carrots, and green peppers) and rice (both brown and white) but with steak obviously. Or you can always have the Chicken and Steak bowl-a combination of the two.

But they do not only specialize in their popular bowls, they also have wraps, salads, and soups just to name a few random foods. And of course, they include some of your typical sauces such as mandarin, sweet and sour, and soy sauce. They also have small portions of food for children, or kid's meals as they're often called.

Their drinks are your typical fast food types of drinks-Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Lemonade. If you really want to cut back on the calories, they do have freshly brewed iced tea with complementary lemons for a little flavor. Or just water.

Something that I haven't mentioned about this restaurant is that it's not just healthy, it's delicious. It tastes fresh, flavorful, and it's very filling. Even the bowls are filling, and they don't look like much. And at the end, don't forget your very American fortune cookie.

(In case you didn't know, fortune cookies are actually an American food!)

If you like Panda Express (or if you don't even like Panda Express), this is just so much better! It really makes me wonder why more people aren't investing more money in healthier, more delicious food like this.
