Shalimar diner in Queens, NY has been around for the past 30 years and during that time span, it hasn't seemed to change one bit which is great news for its customers. This unique dinner is nothing special, unless you consider great service and great food in a nice atmosphere something special.

Shalimar diner has its own parking lot which is something special since finding a restaurant in New York City that has parking is quite a rare find. The diner has a wide selection of food ranging from bagels, omelets, pancakes, sandwiches and salads. The Shalimar diner also has lunch and dinner specials, including new dinner courses which come with soup or salad, a main course, coffee, tea or soda, and desert. At the Shalimar diner they have almost every type of food that you could order. The food is also very good, especially for a diner.

Sandwiches come with chard crackers and a side of toast. You will also get co slaw and pickles, compliments with your meal.

The food comes out fast right out of the oven. My favorite dish is their omelets which include a wide variety of options for omelet lovers including tomato, spinach, broccoli, mushroom, peppers, and different types of cheeses and meats.

The prices at the Shalimar diner are very reasonable and if you don't get a dinner course meal, the per person price will be about $6 or $7, including tip and tax. There is also a wide selection of drinks including shakes, sodas, coffee, and tea. Desert selection includes mostly pastries, cookies and ice cream instead of cake.

Shalimar diner has made several significant improvements in recent years including revamping their booth style customer seating to have new leather seats. Television screens have also been added for customers to watch. In addition, more seating has also been added to meet the increasing demand of customers who enjoy eating at the Shalimar diner. Parking has also increased as more space was cleared to accommodate cars.

When you arrive at the Shalimar diner, you are seated almost always right away since there are so many tables at the diner. Since the food comes out right away, most customers don't spend that much time at the diner. For customers that want to get have a quick bite, the Shalimar diner is a great place to eat. Although there are numerous diners in Queens, NY Shalimar stands up above the crowd.
