Restaurant Review Speed Trap Diner and Dairy Bar

Woodville, Ohio

Bubba
Most of us think of Woodville, Ohio, as a speed trap on US Route 20. Well, the Queen Goddess has found the ultimate '50s diner on US Route 20 is in Woodville, Ohio, and it is called the Speed Trap Diner and Dairy. A glance to the roof and we noted Barney Phyfe in his old patrol car watching your arrival.

The Speed Trap Diner and Dairy is located at 310 main Street (aka US Rt 20), Woodville, Ohio Call 'em at 419-849-3665. Hours are from 7am till 9pm daily. Beware! Barney Phyfe and his Police pals are watching your speed...

We entered the diner observing the décor featuring everything from the fifties. Pictures of a young Sinatra, James Dean, motorcycles, moon hub caps, etc. The menu is a bit overpowering. Burgers of almost any description cover page one of a 8 x 10 menu. Page two has twenty or so chicken sandwiches a nice selection of wraps, and a few fish selections all fried. Page three is all sandwiches appetizers and side dishes but don't miss the list of Marble Melts all made with Marble Rye bread. They look Wow good!. Page four is filled with breakfast choices including many omelets and gourmet pancakes.. we gotta go back for the Chocolate Chip Pecan Pancakes some day soon.

The Queen Goddess decided on a Herculean Chicken sandwich with French Fries. This is a grilled chicken breast with grilled onions, mushrooms and melted Romano cheese on Texas Toast and the mountain of French Fries must be the production of the whole state of Idaho. I really wanted some spicy food so here goes with the Chicken Caliente. Spicy breaded chicken breast with onions, Jalapeno Peppers, creamy salsa and pepper jack cheese, served on a huge 4" bun. Cut in half this was still a two fisted sandwich. I enhanced this with the mountain of French Fries and a cup of chili that was good. Y'all hold your spoon the best is yet to come...

This is the Speed Trap Diner and Dairy so soft ice cream is the order of the day and my Queen Goddess loves a large Hot Fudge Sundae made with Chocolate Ice Cream no matter what day of the week it is. The Queen Goddess was kind enough to share and this was top quality stuff...

Well folks this was a super supper again. We had dinner for two including beverages, dessert, sales tax and a generous gratuity for under $30. If you should be traveling Route 20 near Woodville, Ohio stop at the Speed Trap Diner and Dairy. Tell 'em Bubba and Bonnie sent ya... Mizpah
