After she finished and wrapped up my sandwich, she placed it over near the register with the other people's sandwiches. I had to wait again to be rang up. I bought a drink and a bag of chips, then I sat down to eat. Opening the paper, I immediately noticed that it was the wrong sandwich. It was on wheat and it was nothing like I had ordered. The lady at the register had given my sandwich to someone else. I went up to the register and I told her what had happened. She asked the girl who made the sandwich what did I order, and she told her. The lady at the register told her to make me another and then took the wrong sandwich and set it on the counter behind her. I asked if I could have that one to take home considering all the hassle that I had been through and since they would undoubtedly throw it away. She actually said no.
The next day I contacted the manager and told him what had happened. I told him that when something goes that badly wrong and wastes so much of someone's time, they should get something for free. Something, so they will want to come back to the restaurant. He offered me a free sandwich. Not much liking his attitude, though, I also called the corporate office of Subway and shared the experience with them.
The next day, I returned to Subway for my free sandwich. The manager came out and made it himself. I told him that I'd rather have a cold cut combo (which is actually cheaper at $4.29) than another BMT. A cold cut combo has bologna, ham, and salami. I believe it was one of the original Subway sandwiches. I asked him to add a little roast beef. He felt the need to explain to me that this isn't normally done. As if I didn't already know that considering I've been eating at Subway since a location was first opened in this area. I only had him add it because he was making the sandwich for free, which meant it was my only opportunity to create my own sandwich. Besides, the sandwich he was making was cheaper than my original order.
Usually, I don't have this much trouble when eating at any of the Subway restaurants in this area. Subway makes the best sandwiches of any other sandwich place. They have soft bread, fresh veggies, and good combinations of meat. But if you don't like a lot of mayonnaise or mustard, be sure to tell them to take it easy before they add it. There have been many times I've had to ask them to rake some off, or do it myself. Don't forget to buy one of Subway's white chip macadamia nut cookies. They are the best cookies I've ever had.

Post a CommentIt's been 4 years since I wrote this review. Appomattox Subway has greatly improved their customer service and the owner is very friendly.
Wow. What an experience...I'm glad I'm not you.
Update: Be sure to read my latest review of a nearby Subway restaurant called: You Can't Have it Your Way at Subway (just click on my name to get to it). I'm never going to that location again!
