Restaurant Review: Szechuan Chinese Restaurant

Szechuan Chinese Restaurant is by far my favorite restaurant in town. I love the food. I love the people and I can't resist the prices. The are conveniently located across the street from one of our more active strip malls, also in close approximation to Interstate 5, the bowling alley, the local speedway and our local fairgrounds.

The place is always clean, the owners are the staff and they treat everyone like family. The space is open and not too crowded. They have cozy booths for just your family or big round tables for a larger group. They also have a second room to accommodate extremely large parties and the room is often used by the local civic groups as tasty meeting place.

The prices are right on target, they have a lunch special between 11-3pm where you can chose three items from a large selection of their most popular dishes for only $5! The dinner prices aren't to far off either, the same plate for dinner will only run you $6.75. Now, they do offer a lot of other things and the prices range from an average of $4.50 for an appetizer to a family style dinner of eight different dishes (huge portions by the way) to serve four people at only $12.75 per person.

The parking is a little funny, so if you are going during the dinner hours, make sure to get there early to get a good spot. With bowling across the street and great Chinese food to follow it up, family night could take on a whole new meaning.

Don't want to eat out? No problem, they do take out too. In fact, my husband and I just ordered take out last night. It is just as hot and good as sitting in the restaurant, my one recommendation is this though- If you don't plan on eating it all at once, get the sauce on the side so it doesn't get mushy. This mostly applies to the fried and sauced foods, such as the Sweet & Sour Chicken, one of my personal favorites.

My husband can't live without the Crab Pops and he likes to dip them in a little Hot Mustard for a kick. "There food is always great and the service is fast and friendly, and the lunch special is reason enough to come down on the weekends." says another customer, Megan Millard, mother of two and Szechuan frequenter.
