Restaurant Review: T-Bone Diner in Queens, NY

Hard Worker
The T-Bone diner restaurant located in Forest Hills, NY has been around for the last 30 years. It has been a hallmark of the community and a landmark of prosperity and stability in the neighborhood. T-Bone diner has sponsored many youth organizations in the past like baseball teams for kids and has taken pride in knowing that it has served the community well during its tenure. Very little has changed since the T-Bone restaurant has opened up. It has gone through at least one renovation that I know of to make the lighting and seating better, but the food is the same; it still tastes great. The townspeople still love to go to the old T-Bone diner to read their newspaper and shoot the breeze with the other townspeople. It's still a great place to grab a quick cup of coffee on the way to the train station, or before grabbing a bus or cab.

The T-Bone restaurant has a big counter in front where customers can sit and grab and quick bite on a stool. There is also seating throughout the restaurant containing mostly tables and chairs, scattered along with some booths. The tables are crammed next to each other to maximize seating capacity because the restaurant itself is small because real estate is hard to get in a crowded strip of stores and restaurants on Austin Street in Forest Hills.

The waiters and waitresses are usually middle age or older, grizzled veterans with plenty of experience working in restaurants. When you walk into the restaurant after you walk up the entrance stairs, you will notice a big friendly fish tank and some benches in the hallway once you enter to wait for your seat.

The food items on the menu are pretty much the same as any restaurant but the food seems to just taste better. The coffee seems freshly brewed and the waiters are very friendly and yet very professional. For customers that like to chit chat the waiters and waitresses will talk quite a bit and for other folks who are just there to eat or have a business meal, the waiters will keep chatter at a minimum.

The T-Bone diner doesn't have any parking so the best suggestion is to walk or take public transportation. You can usually find street parking during the day and night though if you look hard enough.

The prices for all of your food, including tip and tax usually come out to about $6 or $7 per person.
