Restaurant Review Tony's Restaurant and Pub in Findlay, Ohio

Bubba
My Queen Goddess was talkin' with Chuck, Seneca Counry's most knowledgeable feline. I don't speak Kitty so I'll take Bonnie's translation as gospel. Chuck sez there is a place in Findlay, Ohio that serves the biggest hamburg he's ever seen. We headed toward Findlay to find this special place.

Tony's Restaurant and Pub is located just west of Findlay at 10280 US Route 224. Call 'em if ya got questions at 419-424-3100. They are open everyday at 11am. Sunday through Thursday they close at 10pm and Friday and Saturday they close at 11pm.

As we entered the bright dining room I noted four rather huge fellas dressed in Orange and Brown football jerseys. They each had a sandwich in front of them that I later learned was called a "Big Ben". Each had a huge mound of French Fries, and a pitcher of an amber liquid that had a head on top. Each had their head bowed as if in prayer so I thought it might be a church group. I asked Jodi, our server, what was up and she giggled. "Oh they're Brown's wannabe's and gonna eat Ben Roethlisberger."

The "Big Ben" is a one pound burger served on a 5 inch bun, enhanced with lettuce, tomato, and Tony's Barbeque Sauce add cheese fer just seven cents more. The menu states it is big enough to share. I saw the four fellas eatin' these and actually thought it was a small meatloaf.

We wanted dinner so carefully read the menu over two large ice teas. My Queen Goddess loves Bar-Be-Que and noted that the lobby was covered with dozens of plaques and trophy's fer Bar-be-Que awards. She ordered the half slab of ribs, baked potato, and salad bar. The salad bar is about thirty feet long and loaded with too many items to mention here. The ribs were so tender they fell off the bone and the sauce was WOW good. My son Goliath had taught us you must eat a rack from the big end towards the small end, that way you have room to finish it all. I decided on the Bar-be-Que chicken dinner. It's a half a chicken also so tender and done it fell off the bone, I had the French Fries and the salad bar also. These dinners also include a fresh roll with margarine, and I do mean fresh. Hold your fork the best is yet to come...

To be honest we were way too full to eat anymore with dinner. My wise Queen Goddess ordered us an Apple Dumpling to go and about three hours later we enjoyed it. Next trip we'll split the Big Ben and have the pecan ice cream ball covered in caramel.

We did it again folks. Dinner fer two includin', dessert, beverages, sales tax, and a generous gratuity fer under $35. If your in need of a great meal or even a huge sandwich head to Tony's Restaurant and Pub. If we're not there just tell 'em Bubba and Bonnie sent ya... Mizpah.
