Restaurant Review: World Buffet Las Vegas, NV

Richard Banks
In a town known for buffets, World Buffet Las Vegas, NV has some of the stiffest competition in the business.

First Impressions of World Buffet Las Vegas, NV

The first impression of World Buffet Las Vegas, NV was positive. The restaurant is large. All of the tables are booths, but if you are in a large party, seating will not be an issue. There are three different hot bars to choose from, as well as a cold salad bar. There is also a dessert bar to satisfy the sweet tooth.

Even though World Buffet Las Vegas, NV was a large restaurant, it was also dated. The interior was a throwback to the 1980's. Unattractive wallpaper, faded pictures, and an unclean fish tank was the main source of décor.

Wait Staff and Menu at World Buffet Las Vegas, NV

The wait staff consisted of host and waitress. The waitress was somewhat friendly and attentive to our needs, but eating at a buffet, the only needs are beverages. She rarely checked on the status of our drink needs unless the drinks were completely empty.

The menu was simple. Your only choice is the buffet. But on the flip side, guests were treated with over 100 different choices.

Lunch at World Buffet Las Vegas, NV

The positive of eating at a buffet is the amount of food and the variety. At World Buffet Las Vegas, NV, I encountered a mix of Szechuan, Hunan, and traditional oriental dishes. On the buffet bar, there was almost 100 items.

I chose items I had tasted at other oriental restaurants to be safe. I was going to try additional items later in the meal. The first item I tasted was cold. As in the buffet bar did not have a heating element and the only equipment keeping the food within a healthy temperature was the heat lamps.

I think this is isolated, so I try another items only to be surprised the item is cold as well. At this point I am utterly disgusted and did not eat another bite.

Check Please at World Buffet Las Vegas, NV

The best part of the entire experience at World Buffet Las Vegas, NV was the price. I went during lunch hours and paid less than $20 for two meals plus drinks. With the level of service and overall poor quality of food, there was not a tip left.

Pros

Adequate seating

Cost effective

Cons

Cold food

Cleanliness of the restaurant

Unprofessional wait staff

My Take and Thoughts World Buffet Las Vegas, NV

This was the worst buffet I have ever been too. Nothing was right in this establishment. From the poor quality food, to the unsightly décor, World Buffet Las Vegas, NV is not a reflection of the higher end buffets Las Vegas is known for. World Buffet Las Vegas, NV captures the transient side of Las Vegas. No real place to call home.
