Restaurant Reviews: China King, of Kutztown, Pennsylvania

Good, Cheap, Chinese Food

John Galt
Anyone who has ever been through a college town, or has lived in one, is likely well aware of the abundance of restaurants that can spring up. However, while there generally many different choices, not all of them tend to be good choices. One particular type of restaurant that seems to be everywhere you look is that of Chinese food. However, while Chinese Restaurants are very popular, it can sometimes be difficult to locate one which inspires a repeat visit. Thankfully, China King, of Kutztown Pennsylvania, does just that, and makes sure that both students and casual diners come back with a smile

What is it that makes this little restaurant so special? Located directly on Main Street, in a small building crowned by apartments and surrounded by other restaurants and small stores, it would be very easy to miss China King unless one was looking directly at it. This small exterior and the limited amount of room inside make it definite that China King is designed for take out and delivery food, although one can eat in the restaurant if they so choose to do so. Be warned though, China King is not recommended for the atmosphere, even though it is clean, there is generally a lot of chaos, and as myriads of people come in and leave to get there food, it is usually best simply to take your food with you and eat it in the comfort of home.

Even though the atmosphere may not be worth raving about, the food is definitely very good. With a list of specials that all cost $5.55, as well as a variety of other menu choices as well, China King is priced for the hungry, but budget minded student, and this is attractive to those that don't have to live on the budget of a student as well.

Although the $5.55 specials are very nice, all of the sides, soups, and other menu choices available are also definitely worth ordering. Although the quality of the egg rolls can differ a bit from day to day, for the most part, they are a great choice to complement any meal. And, if the "Student Specials" don't seem to fit what your looking for, or you simply want to mix and match, there are still many choices available, even for the pickiest of eaters.

True, China King may not have the flashiest building, or the best place to sit and eat a meal, but there is something just unexplainably good about the food. Add to this the fact that the service is always nice and friendly, and the preparation and delivery times are always speedy and efficient, and the residents of Kutztown have found themselves a genuinely good place to go for Chinese food. Also, if nothing else, the low prices alone are enough to leave many hungry residents returning to the restaurant for meal after meal. China King may not be the best food in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, but it is still a great place to grab a quick meal.
