The next time you are in Boston and you crave a burger and nothing else will fill the bill, try one of these places that have some of or the best burgers in Boston. Each one of them has taken the ordinary burger and made it their own with a bit of creativity and imagination and the results will give you a one of a kind taste experience. No reservations are required at these places and you can find ones that are family friendly and ones that cater to sports fans. Whatever one you choose, the atmosphere is casual, relaxed and friendly and who knows you may make a new friend or two.

When in Allston, stop in at The Joshua Tree at 1316 Commonwealth Ave, Boston, Massachusetts 02134 Phone: 617-566-6699, Fax: 617-566-6670 for some every original burgers such as the Stuffed Bleu Bacon a burger stuffed with bacon & bleu cheese then topped with more bleu cheese for $7.99, the Stuffed Fireman a burger stuffed with jalapeno, pepperoni, and jack cheese, then topped with more cheese and cajun mayo for $ 7.99 or the Triple Play topped with swiss, mozzarella and American cheese for $6.99. While you enjoy your burger and whatever you have with it, you can watch the games of all three of Boston's pro teams and if you want to get a bit of the action yourself, come on a Monday and enjoy free darts, billiards or fooseball. Over on Beacon Hill, the place to come for a burger is Emmet's Irish Pub at 6 Beacon St, Boston 02108. Phone: 617-742-8565, While they do not have a large variety, they are done well and you can get a regular burger for $7.95, a blue cheese burger for $8.95 or a pepper and onion burger for $8.95. You get either fries or slaw with your burger, making it a full meal for a great price. Emmet's is open Mon: 12am-2am, Tue-Sat: 11am-2am and Sun: 11am-12am.

Over in Jamaica Plain you have the Real Deal Deli at 736 Centre St, Jamaica Plain 02130 Phone: 617-522-1181 where you can try one of their famous monster burgers like the Green Monster Burger which is a 1/2 lb burger with cheddar cheese, bacon, crushed avocado, lettuce and tomato for $6.99, The Phantom Burger which is 1/2 turkey burger with muenster cheese with lettuce tomato and cranberry mayonnaise for $6.99 or the biggest monster of them all, the Frankenstein Burger which is 2 half lb burgers topped with American cheese served on a large sub roll with ketchup, lettuce, tomato and pickles for $7.99. The real deal is open Mon-Sat: 11am-10pm and Sun: 11am-6pm.

Over in Faneuil Hall is the most famous of all, Cheers at 2 Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Boston 02109 Phone: 617-227-0150. The original Cheers is over in Beacon Hill, but this is owned by the same people and a great place to come when out shopping. At Cheers, you can try Carla's Petite Burger which is a ¼ pound sirloin burger with lettuce, tomato and onions on a toasted bun. Served with French fries and a sour pickle spear for $7.95, The Bunless Burger which is a grilled ½ pound burger with Caesar salad and sliced tomatoes for $9.95 or the Giant Norm Burger which is 2 burgers with Muenster cheese, mushrooms, onion rings, lettuce and tomato in a giant bun with French fries and a sour pickle spear for $16.95. Cheers is open Daily: 11am-2am.
