From Romantic to Festive Restaurants

Prom is a special event for all high schoolers. It means one of the biggest celebrations of the year. For seniors it can be especially heart warming seeing as this will be the last dance before graduating and entering the big world. Prom night has to be a special event for all those who attend, whether it be single friends celebrating together or couples on a date. One of the best ways to get the night started is by heading over to a restaurant before the big dance.

Luckily, Albuquerque has so many great restaurants to choose from and depending on if you're going for romantic or fun, there is a restaurant for you, and in your area too! I will be touching on a few restaurants scattered around town and each one has a different ambiance that may just be the perfect setting for you and those you accompany you for the night.

High Finance Restaurant on the top of Sandia Peak:

This is a truly romantic and unforgettable place to have dinner with a date, because it is located right there on the top of the Sandia Mountains overlooking the city. The only way to get there is by tram and that is a wonderful site to see as well. Take the tram for 15 minutes up to the top of the Sandia Peak. Up there you will find only one restaurant, and it's a very elegant one at that, the High Finance restaurant. They are used to seeing people in elegant dress as it one of the most romantic restaurants in town so come as beautiful and handsome as you are. Get ready for fine cuisine and a beautiful view of the sun set in the magnificent Albuquerque sky of rich hues.

Los Cuates Restaurant:

A New Mexican restaurant guide would not be complete without mentioning the delicious and authentic New Mexican food we have so abundant here in Albuquerque. Whether your favorite dish is enchiladas, fajitas, stuffed sopapilla or tamales, you'll find your specialty at Los Cuates restaurant. It's a fun atmosphere that is a perfect setting for friends or even a couple. If you plan on having a larger party, be sure to call ahead of time to make reservations. In general this can be quite a popular restaurant so make a reservation anyhow. Don't forget to try a virgin margarita, it's quite tasty!

(Located on Lomas, near San Mateo)

Yanni's Mediterranean Grill:

Why not spent your prom dinner at a Mediterranean restaurant? They have such delicious food in a variety of flavors. Some of my favorites have been the lamb, spanakopita, dolmas and potatoes. I've been here several times in my life for various special occasions and have never been let down. However, I always take an Entertainment Coupon with me to take $10 off the bill. If you do not already have an entertainment book, be sure to get a free online trial before the big event. A reservation is not usually needed but you might want to call just in case. I highly recommend the back room with the lighted patio. It's quite beautiful. (Located on Central, near Richmond)
