The Kingdome Café is a pleasant and airy café located on the corner of King's Street right by the Seattle Train Station. The menu is extremely diverse, offering everything from sushi to sandwiches. For breakfast time travelers the café offers breakfast items such as breakfast burritos-sure fillers for the hungry traveling stomach on a morning train ride. The lunch hour at the Kingdome Café is perhaps the busiest, as both travelers and locals working within the area all crowd into the café to grab a bite to eat. The food ranges from a wide variety of western style sandwiches to daily specials such as spaghetti to more Asian dishes like fried rice (with a salad), Korean bulgogi (a seasoned beef dish), or sushi and eggrolls. The food portions at the Kingdome Café are what could be expected for the prices paid at such a prime travelling location. The prices are fairly affordable as well; on average, for a "special meal" of fried rice, a salad, and a fountain soda, the fee would run around a little under eight dollars. For a polish style sausage hotdog the price is almost four dollars.
The sitting area within the Kingdome Café is also very pleasant. Large windows are on two sides of the restaurant, letting in whatever sunlight may happen to be pouring in during a Seattle afternoon. The tables are spread out over an area that allows for the storage of luggage (that you may be carrying with you if you're traveling from the train station), but there is still a good number of tables to sit at. Additionally, most of the meals are served in very "carry-out" style containers, making it very easy for you to grab your meal and run back to the train station if you're layover is too short to sit there and enjoy your meal. Finally, the Kingdome Street Café also offers its customers pleasant and clean restroom facilities, which are especially helpful if the train station happens to be very busy.
Overall, the Kingdome Café is the perfect place to grab a meal when you're at a layover at the Seattle train station.
