Find Out Where Kids Eat Free in the Lehigh Valley, PA

Susan Ott
Eating out as a family can be a fun treat and give you a much-needed break, but the cost can get pretty expensive. Fortunately, there are several restaurants in Bethlehem, PA in which kids eat free on certain days, which can save you a lot of money. While these restaurants may not have gourmet offerings, they're all kid-friendly, fun, and will provide a relaxing break for you and your wallet. So take the night off and select one of these Lehigh Valley restaurants where kids eat free.

Chick-Fil-A
Lehigh Valley Mall
227 Lehigh Valley Mall Space R9
Whitehall, PA 18052
610-231-0303
Kids Eat Free Everyday (with the purchase of one adult meal per one free kids' meal). Pick up a special discount card at the mall service desk to receive this and other discount offers throughout the Lehigh Valley Mall.
Chick-Fil-A is one of the best fast food restaurants I've ever eat at. Their staff is always courteous and friendly, and the food is always good. Their menu centers around chicken, and both kids and adults will find classic foods as well as healthy foods to enjoy. Kids' meals contain either chicken nuggets or strips with a side choice of fruit or their famous waffle fries and a beverage of milk, juice, or soda. The meals also come with an educational toy that doesn't promote the latest movie or TV show, which is refreshing. The adult menu ranges greatly from grilled chicken sandwiches and wraps to healthy salads to fruit, yogurt, and even chicken soup (which is delicious on a cold day). My favorite offerings would have to be their waffle fries, lemonade, Chargrilled Chicken Club Sandwich, and cheesecake.

Denny's
1871 Catasaqua Road
Allentown, PA 18103
610-264-8063
Kids Eat Free Tuesdays & Saturdays from 4pm to 10pm (with the purchase of one adult entrée worth $2.50 or more for every 2 free kids' meals).
Denny's may not be the fanciest restaurant out there, but if you're looking for value in a kid-friendly environment, then it fits the bill. The beauty of their kids eat free deal is that you get 2 kids meals free for every one adult meal, so 2 parents could take 4 kids and save quite a bit of money (especially because the minimum purchase is only $2.50). Denny's is best for breakfast items, which is what they're well known for. The Grand Slam breakfast is always a hit, featuring your pick of 4 breakfast items from a list of 13 for a truly customized breakfast. Kids will love the pancakes, as well as burgers, mac and cheese, spaghetti, and chicken nuggets. Denny's also offers healthy choices for kids like yogurt, fruit, raw veggies and dip, and even Goldfish crackers. Parents can choose from savory options such as salads and soups, or indulge in more traditional diner fare. Dickey's is a true treat for the entire family with delicious, traditional southern barbecue and sides that will please both kids and adults. Choose from beef brisket, pulled pork, chicken, ribs and more with Dickey's famous sauces; add traditional sides like potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw, fries, mac and cheese, fried okra, and more. Choose from traditional platter meals, sandwiches, and salads. They also have favorites like iced tea and pecan pie to give you a southern experience from start to finish. Everything I've ever eaten from Dickey's has been nothing short of delicious. This is a great option for a leisurely and mouth-watering Sunday family meal; you'll save money and everyone will enjoy their food.

Perkins is a fun place for kids to eat, with breakfast items served all day. It's typical diner food for adults as well, but if you're looking for a place the kids will enjoy without having to spend too much money and get something decent, then Perkins is a good choice. Kids will love the Perky Bear pancakes (chocolate chip), Rainbow Pancakes (powdered sugar & rainbow sprinkles), and the French Toast Tower (strips of French toast with syrup for dipping). Of course, there are also lunch and dinner options such as cheeseburgers, mac and cheese, pizza, and chicken tenders. Kids' side items have healthy options too, like soup, salad, fruit, vegetables, or applesauce (and of course you can get French fries!). Each kids' meal also comes with a drink and a cookie, so you'll really get your money's worth here. Adult entrees are nothing to write home about, but they do have some yummy baked goods like muffins and pastries. I recommend this restaurant for its breakfast food; take the kids during the free kids' meal hours and have breakfast for dinner. You'll get a break and the kids will get a real treat!
Note: There are many Perkins locations in the Lehigh Valley area, so I could not list them all. Click here for the restaurant locator and call ahead to make sure they participate in the free kids' meal program.
