Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) is also known as Ekborm syndrome, is very common problem. Some people have daytime RLS they have the sensation that they need to keep moving their legs even they are setting still, they get a creepy crawly sensation in their legs. But the most common RLS is while you're sleeping. You are probably not even aware you have anything wrong with yourself. I was one of these people that did not know I had this condition. When I would lie down I would rock my foot back-in-forth to get some relief or until I fell asleep. My condition RLS felt like I had a cramp, or a stabbing pain in my legs. I would either take a pain pill with a muscle relaxer or get up and watch TV or work at my computer until the pain eased up. A person with RLS will often extend their big toe while flexing their ankle, the knee, and sometimes the hip. RLS is not just limited to the legs but also it can affect the arms and sometimes the whole body. Some of the other symptoms your legs feel like an electrical current flowing through the legs, aching or itching bones, a sensation like a coca-cola bubbling in your veins. If this sounds familiar to you, chances are you have RLS, also be sure to tell your doctor about any of these symptoms. The origin of RLS sensations is unknown. Some researchers suspect that it is a imbalance in the brain's chemistry that may be the root cause. Whatever the cause, RLS can be very frustrating to people who have it, and it can significantly interfere with sleep. Here are a few tips that may help calm RLS down. Have your Blood Iron check; about 25% of people with RLS have low iron levels in their blood Vitamin E can be verygood Take a hot bath Don't eat meals late Eat protein snacks Avoid sleep inducing medication Don't use alcohol as a sedative Remember before trying any of these tips be sure to check with your doctor first.
