Restless Peace

A Two Verse Poem. Melancholy but Hopeful, like the Mood I was in

Angela England
My turmoiled thoughts break against the rock of
Restlessness embedded in my soul
Shattered into a thousand splintered pieces like
The crystal goblet that slips through my fingers,
with a crack,
Transforming itself into a miriad of irreparable shards
Glittering with a rainbow of beauty but sharp to the touch.
Like my thoughts.

Yet, I, in the midst of my upheaval
must cling to the solitary, eternal anchoring-line
my heart can be tied to.
That, the sole necessity for purity of heart's peace;
so prevalent that I may slumber sweet while
The Storm rages with vengeance
That I may rest in the Hand's of God.
And peace infuse my soul
And still the waves.
This anchor's promise I claim though I cannot see.
