Restore Stephen Baldwin Movement Seeks to Restore Actor's Finances (Video)

Will the "All that Knew Him" Token Gifting Effort Work?

Jan Corn
Actor Stephen Baldwin filed for bankruptcy last summer, according to NBC affiliate, Philadelphia.com. Now a website, The Restoration of Stepen Baldwin , is connecting Baldwin's bankruptcy to his 2002 decision to become a Born Again Christian. Contributors can restore Baldwin, not only putting him on solid financial footing and out of bankruptcy, but affirming their belief in the power of token gifting to support Christianity. If he is " restored", Baldwin is said to be in a position to reach millions with his message about the Gospel.

The website apparently began after Stephen Baldwin's spiritual adviser and leader of his ministry, President Daniel Southern, gave his permission for the site to be created. At the Restore Stephen Baldwin site, the actor is compared to Job, a man who underwent great periods of hardship, much suffering and distress and the loss of his children, house and wealth. Yet, in spite of all his woe, Job remained faithful to God. He was then restored or aided, as quoted from the biblical passage by "those who knew him."

Similarly, Baldwin is hoping to save himself through a process known as token gifting. The move to bring in massive financial donations is called the All Who Know Him event . Will it work and bring in millions for Stephen Baldwin and his ministry? Baldwin's brother, Alec Baldwin, appears to be staying out of the situation, reportedly considering his brother's financial woes to be caused by poor decisions and choices. A video from the website follows, explaining Baldwin's decision, taken from an interview about the actor's choices.

Poor financial choices are the responsibility of the person who made them. I find this tactic strange and inappropriate.

Begging for handouts? Not a good idea Mr. B. Hard to find God in all of this.
