As an agnostic conservative, he does not cause me a moment's pause at all. Yeah, I cringe a bit at all the religious imagery, but ya know what? I am all for folks believing in whatever gets them through the day. If believing in a grand Deity up in the universe is what makes one live some vague semblance of the golden rule, then fine by me. Believe away.
That he and some are so literal with their biblical interpretations is fine to. We could argue 'til the cows come home over the allegory versus literal interpretations of the "holy books" of the Koran and the Bible. Why is it incumbent upon media and their sycophancy to lie about the attendance at the rally?
Simple. Small numbers, in their obtuse little minds, lessens Beck's impact. Reality is a tad more frightening for them. Reality is if Beck can draw that big to the East Coast, it spells doom for progressives in the midterms and moreover, doom for their long term agenda. Washington, DC is one damn long ways from Kansas, Iowa and the west coast. If lots of folks made the trek, what does that say to progressive politics? Nothing good, hence the cover of "87,000" reported by CBS.
Let me make this more simple for folks. Wanna know approximately how many came to the Restoring Honor rally?
Be generous and allow that every person had four feet of lateral space and 3 feet from front to back and then find out how many square feet the area in question is and Shazam! Divide 12 square feet, the inside area of a 3x4 space for each person, into the total square footage and a close and reasonable number will emerge. It's not really rocket science.
Of course no one will do that. Progressives won't do it because they do not want to know the true number because as I opened this article with, big numbers spell doom for their political wishes. On my side of the fence no one will likely do that because we are just called liars anyway.
As for me, I would like to know just cause I am a fact guy. Think whatever one's little mind needs to cope, but I am all about the honest to goodness facts - good or bad, I always live by the truth regardless of it's beauty or ugliness, but apparently I am in the tiny minority. BS has never consoled me. I wrap myself in the flag of my nation for my love of it, and wrap myself in factual truth for the need of it.
Fear causes men to do all sorts of ugly things. Lying and refusing to accept reality to not be forced to deal with it is a common trait of men. Not me. I want the dead honest truth - beauty or ugly matters not. I need the facts to formulate a realistic opinion, and if called for, a realistic solution or at least a fact based set of actions for my future.
It's awfully ugly when media has abandoned their charge and moves from factual notification - creating a journal, if one will - and dead on into sycophant like cheer leading. But there is a silver lining.
People are pissed off at all of it and I mean every bit of it, including the lies and abject refusal to be honest journalists, and we see that manifest in rapidly declining sales in their industry. Have you picked up a copy of Newsweek lately? It's like 30 pages thick. Used to be 80 or 100 pages. So, is this because there is less news to report? Don't be stupid.
Is it because folks get plenty of media from other places, most likely the Internet? Sure, there's some of that, but the Internet has been around rather strong for 15 years but the Newsweek mag becoming slick toilet paper is a much more recent response, so the explosion of media on the 'puter IS NOT the reason.
But those who so vehemently disagree with me will tell one that by all means it's the Internet and nothing more.
No chance it's that progressive leadership and issues have worn thin. No chance that progressive media carrying the progressive water is tiresome and unwanted. No chance at all that people are smart enough to know a snow job when they see it. No chance that citizen's can make up their own minds as to what is true or not. I mean to hear every progressive political initiative, they all clearly center around the concept that central planning and direction is the only fair way, right folks?
Yeah, well American's - most of us, and by that I mean the vast, vast majority, don't want central planning to decide squat for us. 20% of this nation's citizens are progressives in their heart. Another 20% are Democrats by tradition. The other 60% are conservatives, libertarians, independents and such. Add in that plenty of "traditional Democrats" are not on board for all the progressive crap and it's pretty obvious progressives have lost the fight for hearts and minds, and they know it, hence all the lies.
So how many came to the rally? I would estimate a pretty firm 400K. Having been to a few Redskin games in the largest stadium in the NFL, FedEx field and it's 96K capacity, I know crowds, and I can do simple multiplication and division, so....there were somewhere in the range of 400K at Saturday's event for sure - no hope or sycophancy in my words - just my educated estimate based NOT on hopeful wishes, but instead what is.
I don't do "hopeful wishes" very well. And I don't do BS at all. And rest assured, even if there had been fencing, turnstiles and tickets disbursed and collected, and 400K of them had been collected, progressive blogs and Media Matters would have run with conspiracy theories.
Oh, and I can tell you how to get a really great and accurate low estimate of the actual attendance.
At the event, Beck asked any who wished to use their cell phone to text a certain number and a ten dollar donation would go to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF), Beck's pet charity and the benefactor of the rally.
It is reported that 500,000 people, immediately upon Beck making know the donation request, texted the number told them. 500,000!! I can guarantee ya, the cell phone companies know EXACTLY how many text's pinged from the local DC towers in the thirty minutes or so AFTER Beck made the announcement. GUARANTEED! 500K would be accurate ONLY if EVERY SINGLE PERSON did as asked, and I doubt every one did, so....
Oh, and now that Barry's vacation is over, there he is on TV again, Jesus! Hasn't he ever heard of Aerosmith? Ya know - PERMANENT VACATION???? It was a great album, and for him and the survival of this nation, GREAT ADVICE!!! Hell, I'll be glad to foot the bill through my taxes of him taking Michelle and the kids to Spain until November, 2012. Now THAT would be taxpayer's dollars damn well spent! "87,000" my ass! PULEEEZE!

Post a CommentThe downplay of the attendance at the rally was both unsurprising and expected. Of course the sycophants will regurgitate what they're told to. 87,000 people is somewhere around the average attendance for a UT home game, and there is NO WAY even half the people attending that rally could fit into Neyland Stadium (even if they filled the field); not even close!
I heard an interview by a retired cop who used to do grid counts, who attended that rally. He said there were at least 500,000 easy.
Last total I saw was 500,000.
Yeah, like JC and Michele said, the accurate figure was closer to 600K total. Isn't it funny how all conservative and Republican numbers are disputable, but all liberal Democratic numbers are always the truth and undisputable?
CBS embarrassed itself. The idea that there were only 87,000 people there is absurd. The center of the National Mall holds roughtly 250,000 and the left side holds 300,000. Both were filled to capacity.
Excellent Article!! Great Job...
Good job...
Only you, Whippy. Only you! Love the Newsweek comment!
Amazing that the numbers couldn't be officially analyzed..because the Nation of Islam balked over their Million Man March count in '97. Congress directed the Park Service to stop counting crowds...
Great article! A lie is an abomination in the sight of the Lord and an ever ready help to Liberals! In one of your articles you mention "the dictionary", you should publish a picture of an open two page spread of one. This would be a useful experience for most of your critics who have never seen the inside of a dictionary.
