The Queen Goddess rolled into Mancy's Italian Grill just five minuets ahead of "The Admiral". I had just enough time to perform my pre-supper blood tests and give myself the proper injections of insulin. Mancy's Italian Grill is located at 5453 Monroe Street, Toledo, Ohio. Contact them for reservations and other info @ 1-419-882-9229 or via the internet @ https://www.mancys.com/italian/meet.html The aroma of simmering sauces and fresh baked bread just being pulled from the wood-fired oven caressed our entire being as we entered the main dining room.
This evening our server was Donna or Darlin' (I'm not sure of the name) she was soft spoken but very professional in her service and training. I do know her training was extensive which made our evening very pleasant. "The Admiral" was stationed in Italy for two tours of duty and still loves good Italian food. "The Admiral" also noted the Wine List here was enchanting.
Tonight "The Admiral" ordered the Veal Scallopini with shitake mushrooms, orzo pasta and fresh green beans, enhanced with a spinach salad. He feels it was as good as he had his last trip to Milan Italy. I chose the Chicken Picata with the artichokrs and pisciutto, orzo pasta and fresh green beans but I chose the house salad. It was just what I desire except too large a portion. I had enough for lunch the next day. The Queen Goddess ever mindful of her girlish figure chose the Caesare salad with broiled chicken breast. It was huge covering a 12" platter as well as very satisfying and large enough for lunch the next day. Hold your fork the best is yet to come...
"The Admiral" ordered the Crème Brulee' which looked decadent. The Queen Goddess indulged in the homemade Tiramisu.(aka Heaven in your mouth) It lived up to its name with flying colors. I was following my Doctors orders and had black coffee....OK I did snitch a forkful of the Tiramisu and it was divine.
Well folks since we were the guests of "The Admiral" I don't know what this feast cost. I do know the food was delightful, the service was remarkable, and the evening was a memory we will never forget. If you are in Toledo and desire some true Italian Cuisine, Mancy's Italian Grill would be our first choice. Tell 'em Bubba and Bonnie sent ya... Mizpah ;-}}>

Post a CommentGood job done here.
Sounds great, plus, it's great that you had hearty portions when many restaurants are cutting down, using more shallow bowls, etc.
Sounds like you had a good meal. Well described.
