With the adapter I had in the computer it always read that I had low Wi-Fi signal all the time on the computer so anything that I could do would be an improvement. I needed to find a solution for this problem.
I bought a 12 inch Asian Cookware strainer and a USB Wi-Fi adapter for the computer. I had to purchase the Asian Cookware online to get one that size. I finally found one at Amazon.com. I couldn't find one at the local stores all they had was the smaller ones, from what I read online the 12-inch would be the best.
Once the Asian Cookware parabolic strainer came I hooked it up. I moved the wires in the center of the scoop and pushed the USB Wi-Fi adapter through it so it that was firmly stuck in there. I didn't even have to use any tools, I just pried apart the wires and slipped the USB Adapter in and it fit snugly. It took less than 2 minutes to create my new antenna. It actually took me longer to open the shipping package and un-wrap the strainer than to make it.
Then checked the stats on the computer to see if it made a difference and it did! I was shocked how a $20 investment worked so well. I then decided to move it I around the room and check the stats that way. Moving the homemade parabolic antenna around made all the difference in signal strength for the Wi-Fi signal. Once I found a good place to put the new antenna I was set to go.
Since I have hooked it up and made it, it was so worth it to have great signal again. I am still shocked that it has increased my signal so well that I would recommend to people that suffer from weak signal to consider building a Wi-Fi Parabolic Antenna.
