Protective gear is a must - The coatings you'll be working with in the Modern Masters Countertop Transformations kit have a very strong odor and can make you feel nauseous if you are exposed to them. To protect yourself from the fumes, wear a respiratory mask and ventilate the room as much as possible. You will also need to wear protective gloves and should either wear old clothing or something over your clothes to protect them from paint splatter.

What you should do with scuff marks, chips, and so on - If your countertops have minor flaws and imperfections, they can as is.
