Resurrection Day Uprising

S. E. Masters
If you are a believer, believing that Jesus rose from the dead in three days after his crucifixion, then you should keep reading. Read and continue to believe. Believe that if your proclamation of being a child of God, and that God see's no race, color, gender or age, then keep reading. This is about race and color. Not about sexual preference.

How can proclaiming believers of any faith continue to discriminate in this day and time? With the major advancements in science and medicine, and now computer technology over the past 50 years, the one thing that seems to have no cure is racism. Along with marching, walking, running, and going before Congress against AIDS, breast cancer, heart disease, multiple sclerosis and autism, march, walk, run, and put heat on Congress about racism. Instead of dividing races, divide wrong doers from those who believe in what is right. Show your faces on both sides of the fence.

There are racists in every race, but I venture to say that for some the racism is due to the hatred, killings, and ridicule that they witness or heard about at the hands of others from other races. I guess you can call me one of those racists. I don't hate people, I hate hatred. And to those that perpetrate hatred, I must stand up against you, as a believer, as a man, as a father and as a human being.

I absolutely loathe racism of any kind from anybody. For a so-called Christian who is a different color as I to immediately judge me, upon sight, and think the absolute worst before seeing what a wonderful person I am is disgusting and intolerable. For a so-called Christian with a stock pile of weapons in his home waiting for that day when a race war is launched so he can load up and take out every person that doesn't look like them is monstrous. Racism is monotone. Love for mankind is harmony.

What prompted this commentary? It's Resurrection Day. Believers are expected to lift up, build up, rise up and stand up. Start today. It doesn't matter what color you are. Rise against racism. If it's your best friend, pastor, neighbor, brother or mother, stand up for what you believe to be right in the sight of God who created all of us. Challenge hatred every time it opens its eyes. Start at home.

Happy Resurrection Day! You are a wonderful person too.

Resurrection Day symbolizes faith in God, and courage in doing what God expects us to do, even in the midst of adversity. Paul tells us in Ephesians to "do ALL that you can to stand."

Resurrection Day is what separates the believers from the non-believers in that when we step from this life - we step into the everlasting life, hand-in-hand, together :) cheers! Happy Easter!

As long as there is one person who believes they are superior to another because of their color, there will be racism. And I am afraid to say I think that will be until our Savior returns. Great commentary.
