Retailers Push Cyber Monday Promotions

Sally Albright
Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and is known for fetching great deals for consumers. But did you know that there is an online shopping equivalent to Black Friday? It's called Cyber Monday. Cyber Monday sales occur the Monday after Thanksgiving, which is on November 26th, 2007, providing online shoppers with great deals without leaving the comforts of home. But where do you shop to find these great deals? Here are just a few of the stores that will be participating this year.

K Mart

K Mart is a great place to shop for household items and clothing without spending a lot of money. K Mart.com will be offering great deals on Cyber Monday as well. You can find select items from the Craftsman, Disney, and Trim a Home collections on sale during Cyber Monday. The Craftsman 5-Drawer Homeowner Tool Center will be offered for $79.99 for example. This product normally retails for $129.99, giving you a $50 savings. This product is also available with free shipping through December 18th.

Staples

Staples is a popular office supply store which can be found online as well. Staples.com will be offering online shoppers special deals on Cyber Monday. The special sale will start at 6 a.m. One special offer Staples.com will be offering is for the I/O Magic Gigabank 80GB External Hard Drive which will be offered for just $79.98. This product normally retails for $129.98, giving you a savings of $50.00. Another great deal you can find is for the Fellowes Mobile USB Hub Mouse which will be offered for just $4.99, giving you a savings of 83% off the regular price of $29.99.

Overstock.com

Overstock.com is a website that offers online shoppers great deals. They acquire merchandise at a discount through partnerships with name brand companies, overstocked or "leftover" merchandise from retailers, as well as discontinued items, and pass the savings on to their consumers. Overstock.com will be participating on Cyber Monday by offering discounts of up to 70% select merchandise. One great deal you will find is for the 10k White Gold 1/10ct TDW Round Diamond Circle Pendant, which will be offered at $59.99, a discount of 50% of the regular retail price.

Many online retailers will be participating on Cyber Monday. In order to get in on these great deals you should shop early to avoid sold out products. You can visit CyberMonday.com to keep an eye on special promotions and discounts offered by different retailers. Keep in mind that some retailers may only promote their special Cyber Monday sales through e-mail, so make sure that you sign up to be on the retailer's e-mail mailing list. Online shoppers can also benefit from shopping on Cyber Monday as many online retailers kick off their free holiday shipping on this day. Some of the Cyber Monday specials start earlier than Monday, so be sure to check the online retailer's site often for updated information. So, if you want to avoid the crowds on Black Friday, try staying at home and shopping on Cyber Monday instead.
