Retro Cheats: Website Review

Matt Remley
RetroCheats.com, is a website devoted to providing users with cheats and guides for retro games. Most gaming websites tend to delete or clear out all old video gaming cheats or codes, but the fact is that a small portion of gaming websites actually specialize in it. Retro Cheats is a great cheat codes website if you're still interested in older consoles.

Playstation 1, Game Boy, Super Nintendo, and even Lynx games are listed on Retro Cheats for users to explore and discover cheats or guides for their favorite games. Aside from guides and other information about retro gaming you wouldn't expect to see is links to reviews of retro games. Retro Cheats claims to have cheats and codes for over 35,000 games, needless to say that's a pretty good number.

Design-

Sadly, the design of Retro Cheats is the only thing that is lacking. Everything seems so cluttered around with random advertisements placed all over the websites pages. Some of the guides are taken from GameFaq.com, and others seem to be from various sites around the Internet. Each games main page could use some cleaning up, to prevent everything from being so cluttered up.

Improvements-

This is where it gets ugly, Retro Cheats actually does what it's suppose to. The website was created so that users could find cheats for their favorite games, however the guides could use some major work. Aside from that, the website's design itself needs a major renovation to keep it from looking so cluttered. Instead of taking guides and cheats from various sources around the Internet, Retro Cheats could put forth some effort into doing the work on their own.

Overall, Retro Cheats gets a four out of ten. For being a decent website that does what it sets out to do, but needs some major improvement.

Final Score-

4 Out of 10. (10 Being Perfect, 1 Being Worst.)

I can never bring myself to cheat through a video game. I will sit there until I can beat it.
