Retro Golf Club Reviews

MikeBabjak
While I am waiting to write reviews of all the new equipment for the 2008 season I thought I would start a small series of clubs that you can still find in the bags of todays PGA Tour players.

There are clubs I have seen that are up to 12 years old that are still in use or have recently been in play by the games top players and I wanted to give everyone the opportunity to take a trip down memory lane and remember these great clubs. Most importantly, for those just getting started, I hope this will serve as a guide to find what are still very playable clubs at great prices instead of going to a big box retail store to get the cheapest thing possible.

I will be covering clubs from 1993 through 2004. This will give everyone a great idea of where golf club technology has come from the days of a steel headed driver! From the original Big Bertha and King Cobra Drivers to the R500 Series from Taylor Made, I'm sure I you will find something that you have played in the past, and for some of you, you may have tried them all!

Some ideas or gimmicks are still being produced in modern equipment but one thing has always stayed the same: if you build it they will buy it! Taylor Made is the perfect example of this and you will soon be able to pick up on this by the amount of club reviews I will be doing! Even today they have 6-8 drivers in their current line up!

I can almost assure you that you will find something worth reading in the next few months! I have tried them all and actually will have a great time catching up on all the great golf clubs that have come out over the past decade. I hope you enjoy them.

I'll be back in a few weeks with some fresh reviews of all the new toys for 2008. I just need the snow to melt first!
