The FC/Genesis Dual Action 2-in-1 Video Game System is an odd double system. Most systems with two retro systems play NES and SNES games not the mixing Sega and NES. This may seem odd but fans of Sega probably played the NES before they played Sega.
The Dual Action has some of the same problems that the SNES and NES retro consoles has. One problem they both have is that they only work with one systems controllers. In the case of the Dual Action is that they only play with the Sega controllers. This means you can not use NES peripherals. Unfortunately the NES is the system of the two that had the best peripherals. The Sega needs the Sega controller to play the games right though.
Unlike many retro console systems the Dual Action emulation is mixed. Most systems either have terrible emulation or excellent emulation. The Dual Action has great emulation for the Sega system but it does not have good emulation for the NES. Realistically the system is only good for Sega and costing about $40 online on sites like ebay, Amazon, or other online stores it is an expensive system for only Sega.
The machine itself is made very poorly. The controllers are pretty low quality which is a common issue with retro systems. If you replace the controllers with original controllers you will be fine. the best game play you will get with the Dual Action is to play Sega games with the original Sega controllers.
Since this system does not work well at all for the NES it is only worth buying for the Sega part of the system. Unfortunately just buying this system for Sega is expensive. Not only does it only work for the Sega but there are better and cheaper Sega only systems. In fact for the price you can get a better system that plays NES, SNES, and Sega better then this system. I would not recommend this system.
