Return of the Living Dead 5 - Rave to the Grave Movie Review
Return of the Living Dead 5 is about a college student and his friend coming across a weird chemical container in a hidden room. They just happen to have a friend that can screen it and maybe tell them what it is.
However, the friend has different ideas. He found a way to create a drug out of the chemicals and starts selling them for cash. They call their drug 'z'. One of the kids says it is called this because when you take it you just sit there, like a zombie while you're tripping.
What they do not know is that if you take more than one and in a close time frame you turn into a zombie. There is a big rave for Halloween so everyone is dressed up. One of the guys is selling a bunch of 'z' to everyone, not knowing what it does. Many of the students are taking them at this rave, and most were taking more than one. So you know they're going to end up zombies at some point.
Some of the students start turning into zombies and while the 'good' guys are trying to kill all the zombies, it's difficult to tell the zombies apart from all the Halloween costumes.
While this movie might have been good with better actors and actresses, it still would not have been too great. Hardly ever do I see a good zombie movie these days. Everything looks fake and unrealistic. At one point it shows these kids shooting the zombies in the head and they don't even look very frightened for facing a zombie.
The girls scream but they don't look scared. It's just plain bad acting. I realize everyone has to start somewhere in their acting career. I also realize they usually pick these people to act in the movies because of that fact. Seems like they don't care if it's that great of a movie.
I recommend this to you if you enjoy zombie movies and blood and gore. It wasn't bad I just have a hard time watching those kinds of movies.
