Return to Mysterious Island 2: Mina's Fate Quick FAQ Walkthrough

I have not finished Return to Mysterious Island 2: Mina's Fate but I have recieved so many questions via email that I decided to post a quick FAQ on the parts of the game that people need help with the most. I will try to write a full walkthrough when I have completed the game.

How to get Jeb to take a bath?

Go to the area where Jeb and the other monkey were cracking nuts. Click on the fresh water nearby and Jeb will be clean. You can tell if Jeb is clean or dirty by looking at his picture on the bottom left of your game screen.

You can also clean Jeb by having him chew the leaf that you found under the broken bridge. The leaf will become a sponge. Take the sponge and click on the lake that Jeb is afraid to go into. Click on Jeb to clean him.

How to get baby monkey from pole?

Use the knife to click on the sppol of string. Cut off three pieces of string. Use Mina to assemble the three strings into one long rope. Click the rope over to the baby monkey on the pole and he will crawl across to Jeb. Give the baby monkey to the mother as a gift and this part of the game is over. Mina cannot cross this firepit.

How to get plant behind the snake?

There are a bunch of blue flowers behind the snake, but you cannot get them until you charm the snake. Use the Ocarina flute. Click on Jeb's fingers to play music, when the snake sits up, you will be able to click on the flowers to take them.

How to get flesh eating ants?

Go to the dead porcupine that the angry monkey was guarding. Click on a blade of grass next to the carcass. With the grass in hand, click on the dead porcupine. A game will open and you will have to click on the ants until you have all 10 on the grass blade. If the ants are moving to fast, you can click on the smiley face to the right of the screen to slow them down. It will cost you 10 Pride Points.

How to use ants to sew Mina's wound?

A screen will appear showing Mina's wound. Click on an ant, click on the wound, click on the wound again to remove the ants head. Keep using the ants until the wound is closed. You will have a few ants left and Jeb can eat some to build up his energy guage.

How to get rid of leopard by windmill?

Find a tree that has a wooden scarecrow hanging from it. Look up at the tree and you will see a hornet's nest. Use Jeb to climb the tree. Make sure that Jeb is not clean. If he is, go to the marshy area that has berries that Jeb cannot reach. Once he touches the mud, Jeb will be dirty. Go back to the next and use the bamboo on the hornet's nest. Do not put the nest into your inventory. Simply take it to the big cat by the windmill and he will run away when Jeb throws it. Click on the nest on the ground to get a grub.

How to fix Captain Nemo's robot?

To fix the robot, you have to input a code. The clue is the date 1860.

1=1
8=2
6=3
0=4
Every other number will equal 0.

Examples:

8920 = 2004
6801 = 3241

If you make a mistake with the code, the numbers will change to a new code. When all the lights are green, the code is correct.

With the panel open, you will need to remove the screws. Go to the lake that Jeb is afraid of. Click on it and choose to Go into the water without Jeb. Swim underwater with Mina, but do it quickly before she runs out of air.
Pick up any objects that are close, do not go deep into the water or Mina will drown immediately. Go into the helicopter to get a knife and roll of string from the pilot's lap.

Go back to the robot and use the knife to take off the screws. Click to remove the dead circuits. Go to the flooded beach and use the knife to open the broken robots panel. Take the good circuits and go back up the stairs.

How to get rifle (gun) from angry monkey?

An angry monkey is standnig next to a rifle and a dead porcupine. Get rid of him by using the snake skin.

How to set trap for leopard?

The leopard is back and there is no other path for Mina to take. Click on the gadgets on the wall and it will open up a puzzle. You will have to use the circuits taken from the broken robot to turn on this trap. Make sure that Mina is below the trap. To arm the circuits, simply match the number of dots to the circuits in your inventory. Arm the trap and it will get rid of the big cat. Go back to Captain Nemo's robot and use the rest of the circuits to fix him.

How to get Mina out of the mill?

To start playing the game as Mina, you will need to scare away the leopard, use the blue flowers to disinfect her wound, clean the dirty bandge and use the ants to stitch her wound. After that is complete, bathe Jeb and click on Mina. Choose climb on shoulder from the options that appear and you will now be able to play as Mina.

How to get Jeb across the swamp?

After you find the volcano bomb, you wil notice that it has opened a new path to a different part of the island. The bridge is out, so you will have to use Jeb to cross the swamp alone.

Use the bamboo stick to find a shallow path. If Jeb gets into deep mud, he will drown. Look for an area that is whiter that the other parts of the swamp.

When you first go down into the swamp, look up and use the bamboo stick to knock down to blue fruits. They will have to be cleaned before Jeb can eat them.

When you make it to the other side, Jeb will need to make a path for Mina. He has to push the long tree limb to allow her to climb over but he needs energy to do so.

How to fill Jeb's energy guage? and How to get Mina to the other side of the swamp?

Feed Jeb the different fruits, eggs, ants, berries and nuts that are in his inventory. You can also raise his energy guage by bathing him first and then putting on some of the white or blue flowers on him.

With his energy guage green, use Jeb to push the limb over to Mina, she will now move over to Jeb's side.

How to crack the nuts?

Some people are having difficulty cracking the nuts for Jeb. Simply click on Jeb, wait for him to raise the rock, when it is a little bit above his head, click again to hit the nut. If you are still having trouble, click on the smiley face and they will make it easier to crack the nuts.

How to get past angry monkey on the cliff?

Use the snake skin to scare him.

How to sharpen ax and saw blade?

After you have opened the chest, and got robbed by the angry monkey, click to get the other items in the chest. Remove the nail from the saw table, remove the rusty saw blade, and replace it with the stone from the trunk.

Replace the nail. Click the pedal below the table to start the stone. Use the ax and the saw blade on the table to sharpen them.
